DR. LAUREN HEWELL FISCHER

Throughout every level of education, Dr. Lauren Hewell Fischer has received some of the highest recognition for academic excellence in her peer groups. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Art History and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Only about 10% of the arts and sciences graduates of select distinguished institutions are inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. After completing her undergraduate degree, she matriculated to Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. While in medical school, she was invited to join the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. This honor society chooses medical students based on honesty, honorable conduct, morality, virtue, unselfishness, ethical ideals, dedication to serving others, and leadership. Following medical school, Dr. Lauren Hewell Fischer earned a residency position in plastic surgery at one of the most sought-after universities in the world, Stanford Hospital & Clinics. During her final year of plastic surgery training, she served as a Chief Resident mentoring medical students and junior residents and taking care of administrative duties. Since starting plastic surgery practice in 2016, she has been asked to join the Breast Program Leadership team at Delnor Hospital

From an early age, Dr. Lauren Hewell Fischer learned the importance of service to a community. She is grateful for the mentorship of her father, Dr. Todd S. Hewell, III, FACS, who has dedicated his time and talent to the Fox Valley for over 30 years. Dr. Lauren Hewell Fischer is proud to return to the Fox Valley to serve her community.
